This is a open letter I sent to the ATF regarding their latest move to ban ammo...

To whom it concerns,

This ban the ATF proposes on so called 'green tip' ammo is nothing more than an end around attempt to further degrade the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans.  You know it, we know it.

Green tip ammo is nothing more than standard ball ammo with a PAINTED green tip.  It is no different than any other solid ball ammo out there whether .308, .30-06, .30-30, .270, or numerous other calibers.   Or is that the plan too?  For the ATF to start with one caliber and eventually try to force it on all calibers?

BTW, I am former military AND former law enforcement (sworn deputy sheriff) and your excuse used for this so called ban is, well, bullshit.   I have never had anyone shoot at me with any kind of .223 or 5.56mm round.. not once.   There have been .9mm, .38, .357, and .380's fired at me ... heck even a .12 gauge.  But not one incident included the kind of ammo your are trying to force a ban on.

Additionally, I ask you this..   Did any of you at the ATF take an oath for your position?  You know the one that states CLEARLY, that you will SUPPORT and DEFEND the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic and will bear true allegiance to the same, so help you God?   What part of that oath is unclear to you?

Those of you at the ATF as well as obama are doing your utmost to rip this country apart at the seams.   Why, most of us do not understand.  Are you so unhappy with America that you have nothing better to do?   No drug cartels to take on?  No gang bangers to go after? 

I will tell you this as clear as I can make it.   This former military, now disabled Veteran, and former law enforcement officer will NOT adhere to any rules or regulations that the ATF tries to dictate that trods upon Americans Constitutional Rights.   You can pass all the rules and regulations you want.  Those that are morally reasonable and needed for the safety of the public in a reasonable manner, i.e. keeping weapons out of the hands of felons etc, I have no issue with.

But these new rules and regulations popping up that attempt to directly remove the ability and the right to American citizens bearing arms, using arms and having the FREEDOM to do so and the free will to choose to exercise those rights... I will NOT obey nor adhere to in any manner.  I don't care if they are state or federal level.  I will not abide by any that trod upon the clearly written 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

If somehow you get this so called regulation passed, I will NOT cease the purchase of, will NOT stop using and will NOT turn in any ammo I may or may not already own.... and you can damn well bet, there are millions of other Americans that will stand on that line right beside me.

You, that are on the side of this push against gun ownership, need to take a step back and look at what you are doing to this country, to our Constitution and to the inalienable rights this country was founded upon.   YOU WORK FOR US, for WE THE PEOPLE.   Not the other way around.  And it is high time those of you bent on pulling this crap start remembering that.  

If you continue to push law abiding good Americans back against the wall, at some point you will anger all of us enough and as our history shows, we WILL start to push back.

I did not serve my country to watch people behind a desk in a little cubicle destroy everything it stands for.   I have been very vocal about what I see happening to our rights and freedoms... and you can damn well bet I have NO intention of stopping unless or until the day comes when those of you in government finally wake up and stop trying to destroy everything this country stands for and was founded upon.... or is that the legacy you want to leave your own kids and grand-kids??  A legacy where their parent or grandparent had a direct hand in destroying that which has stood for Freedom for 200+ years?

YOU have a decision to make.  Let's hope it is the right one...

I have posted this comment to you publicly for all to see.  I want people to know what I have said and how I feel.  And should you find the time to reply, I will make sure any reply is also publicly posted so that everyone can see both sides of this issue.  I have nothing to hide... and neither should the ATF.
